The Origin of Present-day Beliefs:

If you have studied the behavior of the Fundamentalist Christian leaders, you'll notice a clear distinction between what the Christian Biblical passages tell us about the nature of man, the nature of Universe and our role in it  and what the fundamentalist Christian leaders say it tells us.   Most of the present-day interpretations of Biblical scripture are hand-me-down beliefs that were canonized  into Christian theology approximately seventeen hundred years ago by men who believed that the Earth was flat.   For centuries, they have simply been accepted as fact without question.

To illustrate this, we have included several passage in the sections below -- passages that are relative to the gay rights issue.

We also  have a web page that goes directly into the Christian Bible and brings out passage that, for the most part, have been completely ignored.  These Biblical passages  give readers a very different picture of reality than the one we've heard from the fundamentalist Christian leaders.  Readers are invited to take a few minutes  to examine the page titled:   Another Look into the Christian Bible ˛

What Does the Christian Bible Say About Gays and Lesbians?

Not much.   If you want to get literal, the Christian Bible supports both sides in this controversy.***1    

On the other hand, when we look to see what the Christian Bible say about one's own behavior and about how to treat others, we find numerous passages.   These passages are supposed to be the guidelines for Christian behavior.   Not one of them makes any distinction regarding what our fellow human beings hold as his or her sexual preference.   Everybody is to be treated equally.  There is gender bias against women who were, in the days when the Bible was put together, treated as property, but basic behavior across the board, was clearly to be kind, loving, compassionate, generous, and fair.  

Jesus never mentioned anything about homosexuality.   He is the focal point of the entirety of Christianity.   Wouldn't you think that if sexual preference was a big deal, He would have mentioned it -  at least once.    There are numerous other things He did say -- things that Christians must ignore in order to be openly anti-gay.   Let's look at some Biblical passages:

Set One         Biblical Passages - Set One                               ...

Luke 6:31

"Do onto others as you would have them do onto you."

    This passage is referred to as "The Golden Rule."   

Matthew 22:39

"Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself. "

John 4:20

"If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?"

Matthew 25:40

"Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me"

    In this passage, where is God?   Is it possible that there aren't really any enemies, but only fellow-god-beings with different points of view  living in human bodies that are slightly different from our own?

Matthew 7:5 and  Luke 6:42

"Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."

    This is in the Bible twice.  Does that mean it's important?

Lev 19:34

"the stranger that dwells with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shall love him as thyself;"

 Romans 12:19

"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather leave room for God's rath:  for it is written,  Vengeance is mine; I will repay saith the Lord."

    "Judge not lest you be judged."

    "As you sow, so shall you reap. "

    "If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the left."

1 John 3:17  

"If someone…sees a brother in need and refuses him compassion, how can the love of God remain in Him?"

Is there anything here that justifies gay bashing?  Is it possible that there aren't really any enemies, but only fellow-god-beings with different points of view  living in human bodies that are slightly different from our own, and/or with behavior patterns that are different from ours?

Set Two         Biblical Passages - Set Two                               ...

John 8:7        

"... He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone..."

Matthew 7:121

"So in everything, do onto others as you would have them do onto you, for this sums up the law and the prophets."

    Because this message is in the bible twice, one could come to the conclusion that God thinks it's important.  See Luke 6:31.    

Luke 23:34 

"Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do."

Romans 14:19

" Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify** another."

    How can anyone interpret this to mean that God is telling us to use threats, intimidation,  violence, and government laws and force our ways onto others?        

**  To edify means to enlighten, inform,    
     educate, instruct, improve, and teach.

1 Corinthians 1:10  KJV

"Now I beseech you...that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

Matthew 7:3-5

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?   Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam [is] in thine own eye?   Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of your own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.   

    One could conclude that the message in Matthew 7:3-5 must be important because the same message is repeated  in Luke 6:41-2

Luke 6:41-2   

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?   Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.

Luke 6:37 

Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven.

"As you sow, so shall you reap. "

Psalms82:6      Psalms82:6       

"I have said, Ye [are] gods; and all of you [are] children of the most High."

    This same message can also be found in John 14:2,  --  Isaiah 41:23  --   and John 10:30-35  + 10:38.  

Matthew 22:37-39 

"Jesus said unto him, Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.   This is the first and great commandment.   And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself.

    Passages  Psalms 82:6   --  John 14:2,  --  Isaiah 41:23  --   and John 10:30-35  + 10:38  in the Christian Bible are  saying that you and I and everyone else are aspect of God.   Matthew 22:37 say love God with all your heart, which, if the Bible is correct, includes every human being regardless of race, gender, religion, life style, or sexual preference.   So go ahead, continue to "hate your neighbor as you hate yourself,"  for you do unto the least of your brothers, you do unto God and unto yourself.   

 

John 8:7        

Let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone.

This passage is worth repeating.   It's one of the most poignant messages in the entire Christian Bible.   Stop for a moment and think about this message and what it actually means.   Open the Bible and read this entire parable about condemning another person.  

Then ask yourself:   "How many mental stones have I thrown today?    Do I love my neighbor as myself?   Am I really a Christian or am I just pretending to be a Christian to appease my conscience and to impress my neighbors?  "By my fruits you shall know me."   What fruits am I producing?   

"Know the truth and the truth will set you free."   Hypocrisy doesn't cut the mustard any more.  Neither do Lies of Omission.˛   You must also live the truth, walk the truth, speak the truth -- all of the truth  -- even when that truth exposes the false stories we have, up to now,  been accepting without question.

Set three    Biblical Passages - Set Three                              ...

Romans 14:14

“I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that [there is] nothing unclean of itself: but to him that believes any thing to be unclean, to him [it is] unclean.”

    This passage reinforces the scriptural message of John 1:1  regarding the Universal Law of Thought.   This message says that we experience the world as we perceive it to be -- as we expect it to be.

Romans 14:20

“. . All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil for that man who eats [takes it in] with offence

    This passage also reinforces the scriptural message of John 1:1  regarding the Universal Law of Thought and one's perception of physical reality.    

1 Corinthians 2:14 

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned. 

Ecclesiastes 3:11                                                              Ecclesiastes 3:11                ...

"He hath made every [thing] beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end."

    The Bible again states that humans do not know how God works.

Matthew 7:15-16

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but  inwardly they are ravening wolves.   Ye shall know them by their fruits.”

    Here's a few more details about how to  Recognize a False Prophet.    

Romans 14:5                                                                              Romans 14:5   ...

" . . . Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind."

    Does this sound like God is telling us to use logic, reasoning, factual evidence, and convincing arguments to inspire others to see things our way, or is God telling us to use threats, intimidation,  arson, violence, murder and government laws and force our ways onto others.

 

Proverbs 29:18      

"Where their is no vision, the people perish, but he that keeps the law, happy [is] he."       

    Like many other Biblical passages, there is much room here for interpretation.   The words, "Where there is no vision," can be interpreted as,   When a person blindly follow someone else's ideas and doesn't think for himself, he is living dead, he is dead in his mind.    The phrase "keeps the law" can be interpreted as learns, knows and lives by the truth.    

    Here's the passage paraphrased:   When a person blindly follow someone else's ideas and doesn't think for himself, he is living dead, he is dead in his mind, but when he learns, knows and lives by the truth, he is happy.    

John8:32         .

“Know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

    To assist you in having a clearer understanding of what this passage means, you are invited to read a description of the opposite of the truth. '  

And here are three passage to which the Christian leaders who peddle Christian hypocrisy ˛ and Christian Lies of Omission ˛  should pay particular attention.

Mark 9:42   

“. . . And whoever shall cause one of these little ones who believes in me to stumble, it is better for him that an ass’s millstone were hanged on his neck, and that he were thrown into the sea.”

u    This passage clearly warns readers of the dire consequences of  intentionally deceiving others.   Completely ignoring Genesis 2:7 is a very clear example of intentional deceiving people by way of Lies of Omission.  

"And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7)

u    Genesis 2:7 clearly states that life as a human being begins at first breath and yet, the fundamentalist Christian leaders continue to claim that every time a human egg and sperm unite, God steps in and by an instantaneous, supernatural, transcendental, conception magic act, creates a brand new human being.   This magic act is not supported by Biblical scripture.   Revelation 22:18-19 warns readers of the dire consequences of preaching messages that are not in the Bible and the dire consequences of pretending that certain  biblical passages do not exist.   

"I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.   And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book."   (Revelation 22:18-19)

"There's still more, but I think you've got the message, so I'll say to myself,  "Stop.   Enough already!  No more!"    

Now, how can one who claims to be a Christian ignore this much of the Bible and still expect to be admitted into heaven?

We might also invite these people to read the United States Constitution.   Do these words sound familiar.   

We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal , that they are endowed by their creator with certain  inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Ok, What Do We Do With All This?

For Anti-gay Christians:   Like everything else in life, there is a trade off, a cost, a price to pay for everything you do  --  including ignoring the thirty biblical passage included above  --  including discriminating against gays and lesbians  -- and including proudly proclaiming yourself to be morally superior.   We suggest you find a dictionary and look up the word "hypocrite."    Never mind, we've done it for you.˛    If you are a Christian, are you willing to deny God, ignore the above thirty of the Bible's most important passages, and jeopardize your eternal salvation?   Are you willing to mindlessly follow leaders who intentionally deny the Christian Bible because it makes them wealthy and gives them undeserved publicity?   

For the Gay and Lesbian Community:    The above information is about to be transformed in to a magazine article format.   The basics of the financial stability information (See Financial Foundation ˛)  is also about to be transformed into a magazine article format.   The two pieces will then be combined and published in whatever media we can get it published in.   Why combine the two?   Because everybody is interested in money, but not everyone is interested in gay rights.  

The same thing can be done in in a pamphlet format.   Some of our gay advocates will also translate these two pieces in an interview format for radio and television.  

The goal is to challenge the opposition to walk its talk.  Every time someone uses the Bible to promote anti-gay rhetoric, we intend to challenge them to follow what their Bible dictates.   We are not waiting to be challenged.   We are becoming the aggressor.    Our intention is to challenge the Fundamentalist Christian, anti-gay leaders with the above passages.   At every opportunity, we intend to embarrass them and ridicule them.   Why is Their free ride about to end.˛
